Welcome to Sabercat Soccer's Web Page!

This off-season, boys soccer players should be participating in other Castle View sports, and/or competing in Club Soccer. In addition, players should maintain their efforts to new weightlifting goals.

This coming summer, as we head into the 2010 season, we plan to make some changes to allow us to be competitive and successful at the 5A level we will be playing at (Continental League).

DU Camp -- this year will be highly suggested for all returning Varsity and prospective Varsity players.
Youth Camp -- our approach this year will be to invite several teams to our youth camp and to make this experience bigger and more successful.
Summer Fundraising -- we plan on selling ESPN the magazine subscriptions, which will allow us to make money for our program. We need new uniforms and warm-ups. Selling these subscriptions in the summer would allow players to avoid having to sell sabercat cards.
Tues/Thurs Pick-Up soccer -- this will stay the same as it has, but better attendance will be expected from players.
Pre-Season Fitness -- Several days devoted to fitness will give players the opportunity to hit their fitness goals before the season starts.

This summer, the CVHS boys soccer program is again planning on having pick-up soccer on Tuesdays and Thursdays from the last half of June up through the beginning of the school year and soccer tryouts in August. This will be here at CVHS on the turf field as it was the last 2 years. We will post a document with specific times and dates for pick-up soccer in the next few weeks.

In addition, we have two camps planned for this summer. The first is the Youth camp, which is a fundraiser that the boys will help organize and conduct. The second is the camp at the University of Denver, which went really well last year. We had a showing of about 18 returning players from all levels there. This year, it is again open to all returning players. In addition, it is a bit longer, includes more practice games, and includes a larger group of competition. In my opinion, the best high school teams are basically invited to attend the camp, as it is organized and conducted in a very hands-on way by the University of Denver Men's Soccer staff. Details are included below and in the attached documents.

Youth camp for boys and girls soccer players:

Camp Dates/Times: June 10 5-7 p.m.; June 11 5-7 p.m.; June 12 5-7:30 p.m. (awards 7-7:30)

Cost: $35.00

University of Denver camp for returning and prospective CVHS boys players (grades 9-12 in '09/'10 school year):

Camp Dates/Times: July 24, 25 and 26; times to be determined soon (afternoon or evening; see brochure)
Location: Gates Soccer Complex
Cost: $135.00
